The articles do not open where I want them to.
When linking articles from a module instance
In the advanced tab, set Force Itemid to the menu item you wish to open the items into.
ProWhen linking articles from a blog view
Views (or menu items) created with Latest News Enhanced Pro
are not associated with the core 'Content' or the 'K2' components. Therefore, as such, articles or K2 items will not open deliberately into the views you have created.
Most likely, articles or K2 items will open in views created for the core 'Content' or the 'K2' components. If none exist, the articles will open on the home page (which is the Joomla! default spot to open items that are not associated with any menu item).
If the Latest News Enhanced Pro
view you have created is the home page, you are at luck and articles or K2 items will show at the home page level (unless they have been associated with other core 'Content or 'K2' views).
To open articles or K2 items into the view you have created with Latest News Enhanced Pro
:
- create a menu item of type list all categories, category blog or category list. For K2, create a menu item of categories type.
- in the created menu item, select the categories corresponding to the ones that have been selected in the
Latest News Enhanced Pro
view. - set the menu item as a sub-menu of the view you have created with
Latest News Enhanced Pro
. - in the menu item
link type
tab, set display in menu to no in order to hide the menu item from the visitor's sight (unless you deliberately want to show that menu item to the visitors of your site)
That's it!
If using breadcrumbs, you will see those additional menu items and categories in the navigation path (even when hidden in the menu, those items show in the navigation path). Enable the Breadcrumbs system plugin
that is packaged with this extension to fix that issue. You may choose to show the categories or not.
When linking items from the Latest News Enhanced
module, it is just a matter of setting the Itemid advanced parameter to one of the sub-menus you have created for articles or K2 items to load in the proper view.
