In Joomla 4, extend the new Link Icon parameter with a preview of the icon and an optional icon picker.
In Joomla 3, add font icons functionality to menu items.

In Joomla 4
The plugin supports Font Awesome (classes using fa-), IcoMoon (classes starting with icon-) and SYW material icons (classes starting with SYWicon-). There is no picker available for Font Awesome because the icon set is too large and would hinder performance.
You can safely update from the Joomla 3 plugin; all icons will be transferred to the Joomla 4 Link Icon parameter, as long as the menu items have not been saved since the migration to Joomla 4.
